Last updated: 11.06.2026 App: Easy PDF
Summary
Easy PDF ("we", "us", "our") does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. The app works entirely offline. Everything you do in Easy PDF — importing, viewing, organizing, merging, and renaming PDF documents — happens locally on your device. We have no servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no crash reporting. We never see your documents or any information about you.
Operator
Easy PDF is operated by:
FreiVentures GmbH, Switzerland.
Contact: contact@freiventures.com
Because Easy PDF processes all data locally on your device and transmits nothing to us, FreiVentures GmbH does not collect or hold any personal data about you. Where data protection law applies — including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) — this policy explains how the app handles data on your device.
Data stored on your device
To provide its functionality, Easy PDF stores the following data locally on your device only:
- PDF documents you import, stored in the app's private storage area.
- Document metadata in a local database: file name, the display name you choose, creation and modification timestamps, page count, and file size.
- Page thumbnails, generated from your documents and kept in the app's cache so the document list loads quickly. The operating system may clear this cache at any time; thumbnails are regenerated as needed.
None of this data ever leaves your device through the app. It is not accessible to other apps.
How documents enter the app
Documents are only ever imported through actions you take yourself:
- selecting files with the system file picker,
- sharing a PDF to Easy PDF from another app, or
- opening a PDF file with Easy PDF via "Open with".
The app can only access files you explicitly select or share. It does not have, and does not request, broad access to your device's storage, photos, contacts, location, camera, or microphone.
Sharing documents
When you use the share function, the document is handed to the app you choose (for example an email or messaging app) through the operating system's share sheet. From that point on, the handling of the document is governed by the privacy policy of the app you selected. Easy PDF itself does not transmit your documents anywhere.
Device backup
If you have device backup enabled, your documents and the app's local database may be included in the automatic backup managed by your operating system and stored in your personal cloud account (for example, your Google or Apple account, typically in encrypted form). This backup is performed and controlled by your device's operating system and your account settings, not by Easy PDF. You can exclude the app from backups or disable device backup in your system settings.
Permissions and device access
Easy PDF requests only the minimal access it needs to function, and never requests access to your photos, contacts, location, camera, or microphone:
- File access: the app can only open the specific files you select with the system file picker or share to it. It does not request broad access to your device's storage. (On some older Android versions, a legacy storage permission may be used solely to import the files you choose.)
- Haptic feedback: the app uses vibration only for haptic feedback in the user interface.
- Network: the app may include network capability from its underlying framework, but does not use it to transmit any personal data or documents.
Data deletion
You are in full control of your data:
- Deleting a document inside the app removes it and its metadata from your device.
- Uninstalling the app removes all app data, including all documents stored in the app, the metadata database, and cached thumbnails.
Children's privacy
Easy PDF does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for general audiences.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data — for example by adding a feature that requires network access — we will update this policy and its effective date before the change takes effect, and the updated policy will be available at the same public address.
Governing law
This policy and your use of Easy PDF are governed by Swiss law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer or data protection rights available to you under the laws of your country of residence.
